Tiga has received a record THREE nominations for the International Dance Music Awards, Miami’s most prestigious international dance awards. If you want to see him cartwheel onstage to claim the hauntingly beautiful statues that are rightfully his, please vote for him in the following categories:
Best Tech House / Techno Track (Tiga vs. Audion – “Let’s Go Dancing”)
Says Tiga: “It’s not easy to write a song that truly straddles the line between techno and tech house. It’s like when Dylan started playing the electric bass: worlds just collide.”
Best Underground Dance Track (Tiga vs. Audion – “Let’s Go Dancing”)
The underground is never more vital than when honored at an awards show.
Best Techno/Tech House DJ
Harper’s called Tiga’s 2013 Spinsperience Tour “a metamultimedia ordeal.” Pretend you know why by voting now.

It was a ridiculously difficult task, and one that i refused to do for months, but finally i managed to pick my favouriteTurbo Recordings tracks of all-time. I was asked for 3. “Surely you jest” i screeched. I gave them a list of 26. they said that wasn’t the point. I gave in to the ruthless corporate demands and cut my list to 6. enjoy:http://bit.ly/10CvHRAhttps://soundcloud.com/turborecordings/sets/tigas-top-turbos
After years of discomfort, I finally had to just go ahead and manufacture my own condoms.

“….a rabbi, a priest and an elephant walk into Boiler Room….”
—— Boiler Room just weren’t ready for my stand-up routine. music snobs.
I’m not one for nostalgia, but this is quite a big one. Twenty years ago today, yes… TWENTY years ago, when i was very very young, along with a group of great friends we put together the first “big” rave in montreal. It was called “Solstice”, and for us at least it was a watershed moment. I have great memories of that time in my life, the excitement, the music, the trip that was just beginning, filled with mystery and magic. All the best to the existing/surviving members of The Bus Company and DNA, names that don’t mean much now but were all the rage in 93.
The Miami Winter Music Conference is one of the most important events on the sub-cultural calendar, an occasion for shameless biz-mingling and literally infectious pool-partying. In celebration of this celebration of celebration, Turbo casts off all northern repression with a sampler of bottom-optional deep house cuts from a cast of roster artists, friends, and respected outsiders.
Everyone from veteran veterans Tiga & Jori Hulkkonen to rising stars like Duke Dumont andLocked Groove to newcomers Iron Galaxy & Sexlife have been crammed into the figurative jacuzzi of sun-scarved lifestyle excess, showcasing the label’s conflicted commitment to the sounds that fuel the world’s most objectionable rich creeps.
Turbo is sort of proud to join Will Smith in welcoming you to Miami as we succumb to the land of vice and sound machines. May God have mercy on our souls and soulful house grooves.

As an incentive for our rapidly growing Drip.FM service, I have decided to do a one-time only giveaway from my studio vaults. All new Drip.FM members from now until Friday, February 8th (12:00PM EST) will join existing members for a one-time raffle: the winner will receive a like-new 1999 Pioneer CDJ-100S, from my personal studio archive, signed, with a certificate of authenticity. This CDJ-100S played a pivotal role in my early switch from vinyl to CD-Rs. This great example of late-90′s tech comes complete with a home burned copy of Paul Simon’s “Graceland” on an original Turbo Recordings blank CD-R. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of DJ history, delivered to your door, as well as the gift of a Turbo Recordings Drip.FM membership.
